Experiences

James Lee is a U.S. licensed Patent Agent and the Director of Operations at ACI Law Group, PC. He is engaged in intellectual property matters mostly focusing on patent prosecution. As a Director of Operations, his main focus is developing and executing new growth directives while building up and maintaining relations with clients. 

He has also assisted non-profit organizations, such as KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and ICTC (International  Customs & Trade Advisory Center), as a consultant for newcomers to the U.S. market. Recently, he has been actively participating in various educational events hosted by non-profit organizations, including the Korean government, as a speaker in order to deliver new issues about intellectual property to entrepreneurs.

Representative Matters

  • Involved in patent prosecution for entrepreneurs and independent inventors

  • Assisted attorneys to conduct a trademark search for more than a thousand brands and file multi-hundred trademark applications for registration with USPTO

  • Assisted attorneys to build strong arguments to successfully overcome a number of trademarks refused by USPTO examiners based on serious reasons such as the likelihood of confusion

  • Assisted attorneys in trademark opposition proceedings for a foreign manufacturer to keep its brand protected in the US and have it successfully registered with USPTO

  • Participated in localization development project by Agency for Defense Development as a research engineer to develop Muzzle Velocity Radar System
